Is the free will defense a successful response to the problem of evil?

(a) Carefully and methodically (but in your words) explain how the atheist argues that God
does not exist because evil exists. Be sure to explain how the various qualities attributed to
God in the Judeo-Christian tradition bear on the problem.
(b) Explain the distinction between moral and natural evil. Give some examples.
(c) Carefully explain the free will defense. Make sure that you say what type of evil the
defense is concerned with. Take care to explain why a world with free beings in it, who
might cause evil, is better than a world with unfree beings who always do good.
(d) State your thesis (answer to the title question) and justify it. You should explain the
philosophical objections that have been raised against the free will defense (among them

Do Men Overperceive Womens Sexual Inter

Abstract: Substantial evidence comparing mens perceptions of womens sexual intentions with womens own reports of their sexual intentions has shown a systematic pattern of results that has been interpreted as support for the idea that men overestimate womens true sexual intentions. However, because womens true sexual intentions cannot be directly measured, an alternative interpretation of the existing data is that women understate their sexual intentions and that mens assessments of womens intentions are generally accurate. In three studies, we (a) replicated the typical sex difference in sexual-intent ratings, (b) showed that men maintain their ratings of womens sexual intentions even when incentivized to tell the truth, and (c) showed that women believe that other women are understating their sexual intentions in self-report measures. Taken together, these results imply that men might be accurate in perceiving and reporting womens sexual intentions and that men might be managing errors through biased behavior rather than biased beliefs

Read chapter four in the textbook and Ethics, reputation, and compliance gain as corporate priorities (https://www.journalofaccountancy.com/issues/2015/mar/business-ethics-and-compliance.html).

In the article, Hagel (2015) statedThe demand for greater transparency from consumers and stakeholders across the world has pushed the areas of ethics and compliance up the corporate list of priorities in recent years. In addition, the risk to reputation and potential damage that can be done if evidence of unethical practice is discovered have increased significantly with the advent of social media. (para. 2)Based on the importance of transparency, your organization (you can represent any organization, McDonalds, Starbucks, ESPN, etc.) has asked you to create a training presentation on ethics and compliance to be presented next week. Referencing the Hagel article, the Gonzales-Padron textbook, and at least two other journal articles, present an outline for your training as a response to this thread. Create an outline describing the information that you would include in your training presentation.

Does Anaximander have a good reply? Why or why not? (Use the text and commentary to support your claim.)

Professor Instructions:These will be due next Friday, 10/5. Please send them by email, and use some system such as the Review/Track Changes function in Word so that we can see what you’ve changed. If you prefer, you can simply make everything new either highlighted or underlined or a different color. Just don’t use all caps, because that’s shouty. As a reminder, these can restore up to half the lost credit: 80 can become 90, etc.Prompts [Please write one ONE of the following]: 1) Suppose someone said to Anaximander: Your idea about the apeiron is charming. But now that we know so more about the basic material elements, we can see that theres no need to recognize some further, indefinite thing underlying them. 2) Heraclitus
Heraclitus attributes great importance to facts about opposites, e.g. the fact that sea-water is fine for fish but poisonous for humans (F 15), or the fact that roads are bidirectional (F 14), or that the water in a river is different at different times (F 33). One might protest that these facts are rather ordinary. Try to construct an argument on his behalf justifying his view of their philosophical importance.3) Parmenides
In Fragment 8 Parmenides seems to argue for the conclusion that there is no movement, change, or plurality. Suppose someone protested: I can refute Parmenides as follows: I shall get up from my chair and walk around the room, thus proving that movement exists. He proceeds to do just that. How would Parmenides respond? (Cite the text appropriately to justify your interpretation.)
Explanation:The main aim of this assignment is to try to extract and think through the philosophical issues raised by these passages, and to distinguish them from the various features of the writings that are specific to their time and place. There are obviously some ways in which we cannot agree with, say, Anaximander, just in virtue of the fact that we do not think earth, air, fire, and water are the basic material elements. But does this imply that what he says about the basic constituents of reality is completely irrelevant, or just a historical curiosity? It is difficult to know what is no longer relevant to our concerns and what might be, until you work through the possibilities., by trying to see what these thinkers might say to a critic. This requires a bit of imagination, guided by your reading. The paper should first present the basic outline of the view question, followed by the proposed criticism (you can use my formulation or make up your own for this). Then you should give your argument on behalf of the thinker. The following content is partner providedEVERYTHING ELSE IS IN ADDITIONAL FILES

Assume that your reader has already read the text and knows whats going on. You want to interpret the textual details, not summarize them.

Here is the prompt from the English professor. We have been reading “They Say I Say” and “Understanding Rhetoric”. In this response, you will practice identifying the major claims made by Michelle Alexander in The New Jim Crow and the supporting evidence for those claims while also analyzing how her use of rhetorical strategies helps her to formulate a rhetorical appeal. In short, your aim is to identify two claims that the author made, and for those two claims, show how each one is supported by 2-3 pieces of evidence. You also want to identify at least three rhetorical strategies the author incorporates into the text and examine how she uses them to build a rhetorical appeal (ethos, pathos, or logos). Make sure to also identify how the rhetorical appeal affects the audience. In terms of structure, ideally you will have a short introductory paragraph where you introduce the author and the text in addition to providing a short context of the text/subject (they say) to orient your audience to what you will be exploring in your response. Generally the best pattern for body paragraphs is explore one main idea. You may choose to first explicate the claims and their supporting pieces of evidence and then move into showing how specific rhetorical strategies function within the text to form a rhetorical appeal. While your first read through the text should involve you reading mainly for comprehension, future passes need to be done in active reading mode where you are critically engaging with the details of the text. Question every choice the author made (because those choices were intentional) and flesh out the larger implications or significance’s at work.Do not simply summarize the text. Additionally, there is no need to incorporate other sources into your response. Practice analyzing one text and thinking critically about the details at hand. Technical requirements:
Times New Roman 12 point font
1 inch margins
Double spaced (3-4 pages minimum)
MLA header and formatting
