In what sense are Trager, Rudd, Billy Ray, and the men in the warehouse in the same social class? Explain.

2. Trager and Rudd used mostly non-violent means to get what they and their bosses wanted. Why does this work? What would it take for people like Pete, the restaurant owner, to put an end to the shakedown racket that victimizes them? 3. In the story, no one seems to pay attention to the information coming through the radio. To what extent is a similar obliviousness evident in everyday (real) life in the United States? How might you explain this? 4. In Chapter 6, which major sociological theory is used to help explain how the rules of the game are enforced? How are the rules enforced in daily life according to the following schemes: a. nets of accountability b. payoffs for nonelites c. quashing dissent

Why does the United States Public Health Service recommend monitoring CD4 counts every 3 to 6 months in patients infected with HIV?

Read the case studies and answer all questions. All questions must include a scholarly reference for where the answer was retrieved from. Please include a reference sections in APA format. Case Study 1AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome)The patient, a 30-year-old homosexual man, complained of unexplained weight loss, chronic diarrhea, and respiratory congestion during the past 6 months. Physical examination revealed right-sided pneumonitis. The following studies were performed:Studies Results
Complete blood cell count (CBC), p. 174
Hemoglobin (Hgb), p. 259 12 g/dL (normal: 14-18 g/dL)
Hematocrit (Hct), p. 256 36% (normal: 42%-52%)
Chest X-ray, p. 1014 Right-sided consolidation affecting the posterior lower lung
Bronchoscopy, p. 587 No tumor seen
Lung biopsy, p. 738 Pneumocystis jiroveci pneumonia (PCP)
Stool culture, p. 855 Cryptosporidium muris
Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) serology, p. 297
p24 antigen Positive
Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) Positive
Western blot Positive
Lymphocyte immunophenotyping, p. 306
Total CD4 280 (normal: 600-1500 cells/L)
CD4% 18% (normal: 60%-75%)
CD4/CD8 ratio 0.58 (normal: >1.0)
Human immune deficiency virus (HIV) viral load, p. 297 75,000 copies/mLDiagnostic AnalysisThe detection of Pneumocystis jiroveci pneumonia (PCP) supports the diagnosis of AIDS. PCP is an opportunistic infection occurring only in immunocompromised patients and is the most common infection in persons with AIDS. The patient’s diarrhea was caused by Cryptosporidium muris, an enteric pathogen, which occurs frequently with AIDS and can be identified on a stool culture. The AIDS serology tests made the diagnoses. His viral load is significant, and his prognosis is poor. The patient was hospitalized for a short time for treatment of PCP. Several months after he was discharged, he developed Kaposi sarcoma. He developed psychoneurologic problems eventually and died 18 months after the AIDS diagnosis.Critical Thinking Questions1. What is the relationship between levels of CD4 lymphocytes and the likelihood of clinical complications from AIDS?

What feedback did you receive about Kaplan Business School (if you mentioned that you were a student at KBS in your introduction)? What can you do as a result of gaining this feedback?

Assessment
This is an individual assessment task.
A learning contract is a self-directed assessment tool that helps the student to improve their
learning in an area that needs improvement. It is a self-managed assessment task though it will
still be assessed by your Lecturer.
You will be required to complete a Networking task as this have been shown to increase
a persons chances in securing a job

You will be required to submit your learning contract via TurnItIn in Week 3 for Approval (as
highlighted on the rubric). This is an assessable item and will go towards your final mark for
Assessment #1.
For Learning Objective #1, you need to follow the following format.
1. What are you going to learn? (Objectives)
You will need to identify the objective you wish to learn. They could be multiple objectives,
but you need to be realistic.
2. How are you going to learn it (specific sources and strategies)?
Explain how you plan to learn and achieve your objectives. You must specify what
resources you need to have in order to achieve your objective. Also list how you will
measure your objectives (this will be important for when you answer Question #4)
3. Date of Completion
This assessment is due in week 10 so, if applicable, you need to break the 10 weeks
into a weekly or fortnightly schedule and monitor your learning closely. Just stating
Week 10 is not acceptable. For example, if you are attending a one-day course,
you would write the date e.g., 14 April 2018.
4. How are you going to know that you have learned it (evidence?)
Here you need to determine if the outcomes that you have set has been achieved. How
are you going to know that you have learnt it? How do you measure it?
5. How are you going to prove that you have learned it (verification by judges)?
You need to keep the Lecturer in mind as to how he/she will be assessing you. For
example, if you did an online course, you may attach a certificate proving that you passed
or completed the course. There are many courses that are free. Time will be set aside in
Week 10 for all students to share their learnings as well as demonstrate their learnings
where applicable (e.g., oral communication skills in giving a presentation).
In WEEK TEN, you are to submit to TurnItIn what you completed as part of the learning
contract (Part A) as well as the completion of Part B and C.
PART B: NETWORKING TASK

Demonstrate how you would utilize the statistical decisions model you created to choose the appropriate, specific test(s) for each study. What is your conclusion using this model?

Include the following in your assignment: This is a statistics for psychology paper. Create and present a decision tree, outline, or other model that includes a series of questions to help someone decide what statistical test is appropriate for a study. Consider the number, type, and scale of measurement of the variables, as well as what you may want to know about the variables (e.g., relationship, difference, etc.). This may be presented as a chart, table, mindmap, or other visual representation, or simply formatted as an outline. Explain the steps involved in the model and how you created this model for making statistical decisions. What were the easiest and most difficult parts of this process? Describe two different studies of interest to you. (Note: Neither study should be one that you focused on in any of the assignments during the course.) Include the following in the description: Research Question List the research question for each study. Hypotheses List the statistical notation and written explanations for the null and alternative hypotheses for each study. Variables Identify the variables and each of their attributes: discrete or continuous, quantitative or categorical, scale of measurement (nominal, ordinal, interval, or ratio), and independent or dependent. Did the model lead you to the correct test(s)? If not, how do you know and what changes might need to be made to the model? Why might a statistical decisions model be useful in statistics and research methods? What are its limitations? What did you learn or gain from creating this model and applying it to the study of interest? How might you use this model in the future? The format for this presentation can take the form of a paper. The paper should be a minimum of 2100 to 2800 words long (excluding title and references pages) and include a title page, introduction, conclusion, and references page. APA formatting should be used for the paper. Utilize at least four resources for this paper, which should be cited accordingly.
