Identify problems in your health care organization and possible IT solutions. Problem charting system crashing and slowness

You will take on the role of a nurse informaticist tasked with identifying a problem in the workplace and proposing an appropriate IT solution.
Through the course project you will experience a portion of the systems development life cycle as you will conduct a needs assessment and evaluate the options that can meet the needs you have identified and the requirements to implement them. Important considerations include testing, training, usability, organizational change management, and how the return on investment for your innovation can be measured. In actuality, a nurse informaticist will also aid in the implementation, maintenance, upgrading, and evaluation of the solution long term but that is beyond the scope of this project.Week

Why is flexible, learned behaviour an important primate adaptation? 2. What are the positive and negative outcomes of being social? Support your answer with behavioural consequences.

Scientists study behaviour in free-ranging primates from an ecological and evolutionary perspective, meaning that they focus on the relationship between behaviours, the natural environment, and various physiological traits of the species in question. This approach is called behavioural ecology, and its based on the underlying assumption that all of the biological components of ecological systems (animals, plants, and even microorganisms) evolved together. Based on the film BBC: Primates, formulate detailed critical responses to each of the following questions and support these with specific examples from the video. Each answer should be between 200-300 words.3. Do you believe that non-human primates have culture? Why or why not? 4. Can we use non-human primates as models for early hominin behaviour? Why or why not? You will be graded on the quality of your ideas and your writing, that is, the ability to communicate your ideas effectively, critical engagement with the topic/literature, and use of proper grammar and spelling.

Why were the results of the CSF study classic for the diagnosis of MS? 2. What is latency, and why is it increased in MS?

(Please read the case study and answer the question taking in consideration this special scenario)

Case Studies

A 35-year-old woman was active in jogging and horseback riding until 1 year ago. During the past year she began to notice severe weakness and paresthesias in her legs. Her gait became unsteady, and she developed loss of vision in one eye. A neurologist suspected multiple sclerosis (MS) and ordered the following studies:

Studies Results
Routine laboratory work Within normal limits (WNL) Lumbar puncture with cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) examination, p. 651
Immunoglobulin (Ig) G index 0.8 (normal: 0.3-0.7) IgG determination 20% (normal: 0%-11% of total protein)
Oligoclonal bands Present (normal: none)
Evoked potentials (EPs), p. 562
Visual-evoked potentials Abnormal latency
Auditory brainstem-evoked potentials Normal Somatosensory-evoked responses Abnormal latency Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), p. 1106 Plaques indicative of multiple sclerosis

Diagnostic Analysis

The wide variety of symptom manifestation often makes MS difficult to diagnose; however, the above studies clearly identified MS as the patients problem. The CSF study results were classic for the diagnosis of MS. The abnormal latency demonstrated on the EP studies was the result of the demyelination process of MS. MRI revealed plaques indicative of MS.

The patient was given prednisone to decrease the inflammation and associated edema of the myelin sheath. When remission occurred, she was instructed about factors that exacerbate, prevent, or ameliorate symptoms.
