Baroque Era

You are required to do 4 journal entries, one from each of the major musical time periods outlined in the text book. To do the journal entry, you should listen to a piece of music from the time period and write a nice paper describing what you heard and your reaction to it. There are no right or wrong answers, you simply listen and then reflect on what you heard in writing. Perhaps you could use some of the terminology in the text book or tell what instruments you heard or how the piece stirred your imagination. Feel free to use the music on the CD’s that came with your textbook, or you could find your own listening example on the internet or in the library as long as they are from the time periods listed below. You will find a list of suggested listening material at the end of the syllabus.
