part 1: please reply to this discussion in 100 words with your own words:I dont think that religious and moral ideals are hopelessly doomed to fail in a world that increasingly favors personal success at all cost, accumulation of power and personal gain. Religion has had its chance, but as you observe there is a decline in moral values. Religion is unlikely to stop this because people are losing faith in religion. Some people are selfish and dont care what they have to do or hurt to gain success but then there is a lot more people that do care and show acts of kindness to others regardless of their religious, the world would not be a nice place if no one had morals. The only way out is to return to the root of religion, true spirituality. It is observable that everyone is serving a God or something in this world. This is spiritual knowledge. The details of how to serve God can be worked out, what is the best way for each individual, but the principle must be established. Everyone must see others as spirit souls, not material bodies belonging to this or that country or religion, all connected to one another because of our connection to God, the common Father of all. Automatically moral values will increase because the basis for modern morality is peaceful co-existence. If the human race identifies as one family with a common goal to please the father, then morality and ethics will naturally follow. The golden rule: “One should treat others as one would like others to treat oneself….” makes sense because we all have spiritual equality, and each one of us is dear to the Supreme Lord. With all the technology that we have today computers, cell phones and internet etc, we can learn a lot about people religion and moral values without knowing them. You can search the internet and find people on social media and see how they live and what type of morals they have by how they conduct their self on social media. With Technology we can explore and learn about the things that we never knew exist. The word of God tells me that we win in the end. The bible asks a question in Mark 8:36. The question is what does a man truly profit by gaining the world (wealth, prestige, fame) at the cost of his soul? If personal wealth and success was the pinnacle of life then why have we had prominent, successful and wealthy people committing suicide? Why is suicide rate so high in any aspect of the spectrum? Wealth and success wasn’t enough. It gave them everything but true happiness. Judas sought after personal gain at the cost of Jesus’ life. What did he gain? He traded all the wealth for a rope to hang himself.
