I would like to study economics. I began to have an interest in world economy and the rate of exchange from a very early age because my father’s company went bankrupt by international financial crisis. My academic interest in economy was developed by doing work experience as sales internship and broadened by participating student government as treasure.
Having a father in international trading business, I saw how world economy affects individual company. He receive an order from a company that produces backpacks in Europe and United States, made sample backpack with business meeting at his main office in South Korea, and produced the requested backpack in his China factory. I visited my father’s company in South Korea and accompanied him on business trip overseas from a very early age. I have a wish to take over father’s business. Thus, at that time I had a greater interest in business more than economics. However, my father’s trading company closed because of Korea monetary policy and global economic crisis.
This is when my interest developed in the subject, economics rather than business. My father’s trading company, first, it affected by Korea’s real exchange rate appreciation (exchange rate revaluation)in 2003. It weakened price competitiveness to export and it leaded to ultimately reduce profit. As I learned more about the situation, I realized how exchange rate changes affect the trade balance of country. In China factory, there was a rapid wage increase China also applied stricter export regulation policies on foreign companies to protect and develope Chinese domestic companies, China was a rising star at that time, internationally popular and Chinese GDP grew higher than before. Rising regional and economic powers in China were making an effort to grasp greater world international influence. Many global companies entered the Chinese market from Korean. There were the problems faced by foreign companies trying to enter China’s market.initial costs went up. What fascinated me the most, however, the whole chain economic events leading to this global breakdown was greatly triggered by the recession in the United States. I realized that all business in every country work based on global economy.

With the Chinese strong economy growth still going with a 11.1%y/y real GDP growth in first quarter of 2007, Chinese wages in China factory rapidly raised. China’s policy rising economical powers in China, worse still, began to apply many strict regulation policy to foreign company for protecting their own domestic company so China made initial capital used by foreign direct investment for Chinese economic growth because many global company wanted to enter to Chinese market. For example, China required high tax to foreign company and they use tax for constructing infrastructure such as covering with asphalt.
Finally, many Korean companies in China faced the problem by raising initial cost. Not only that, Korean faced a severe global financial crisis in 2007, 270 companies based on Korea closed down including my father’s factory. A few years later, when I took an Economics class in Pasadena City College, I wanted to learn how global financial crisis affect in South Korean market. I found out that foreign investors has a great effect on the Korean Equity Market during the 2007~2008 Financial Crisis
What fascinated me the most, I feel that a lots of graph and too many words in economic textbook are alive to me so that I can imagine virtual economic world or apply real economic world. Therefore, many formula and graph are not from hard textbook and I like this process of learning.

The treasurer’s main job is to act as the custodian for the student council funds. The treasurer must be able to explain organizational budget matters to council members. The treasurer receives and distributes money, keeps records of all money spent and received, deposit money into the council’s bank account, pays for authorized expenditures, and prepares a report for each meeting.

I worked experience as sales internship. I worked in prestage department store in Korea during Summer vacation 2013. The department store is located in hot place in korea so I can meet many celebrite and company owners and foreign so I sold it in English and Korean. I sold asian sources and snack which are made from England company. I learned real marketing for selling product from my boss and can see competitive product which are compared to what I sold. I learned business cycle and open economy and market risk. when I got a salary I learned pay tax as well.
I am involvd in variety of working place, student government, econ club. Whenever I contributed in my communit in a way of economics, it stimulates my academic curiosity and it made me study more. Inside of my community, I like to contribute my community through my efforts and talent. After transferring I would like to contribute to UC university and make academic environment with good student. I would like to meet student at UC university to share our thoughts and ideas so we can learn and develop from each otherI. I wish I compete with peers and go beyond my limit in order to attain the best academic results. I wish I develop myself for be investment banker.
