Over the past two decades or so the Food Service industry has introduced the concept of themed dining experiences. These establishments offer guests more than food, but entertainment as well. This might include the environment or other offerings that appeal to the patrons senses. Examples of themed dining experiences might include ESPNZone, Rainforest Caf©, Hard Rock Caf©, Joes Crab Shack and Planet Hollywood just to name a few.
Research a themed dining experience of your choice and discuss the following:
o Background of the establishment
o What the establishment is all about (mission, menu offerings, demographics, size, future, etc.)
o Advantages and Disadvantages: In your expert opinion, what are the strengths and weaknesses of the establishment?
o Is this a chain or independent restaurant?
o Have you experienced a themed restaurant? If so, discuss your experience.
o Support your analysis with academic sources.
