It is an analysis about two short poems written about Area 51. The first poem titled “Area 51 At Night” whom author is unknown, was fun to read and very laid back. Apparently a trip was taken to the famous location and didn’t turn out the way they had hoped. When reading the poem you get the sense that it was written more for a younger audience. Here are two paragraphs from the poem: Maybe it was not a good plan to remain dry, Perhaps expectations were a little high, But for 2 days and nights we were loosely in place, Ready for time travel, or a tour of the base. This was an invitation to open the door, But it’s not the occasion I was looking for, Falling stars, Jupiter’s glow, and one satellite, Were much less than hoped from Area 51 at night. The second short poem, titled “Area 51″ by Joe Rosochacki, is more adult intended and the tone is much different. Seems more serious, even angry. It also has a lot of political puns. Here are my first and second paragraphs somewhat completed. This needs to be a comparison and contrast literary analysis about these two poems. Do you believe in aliens and UFOs? According to many popular writings on a so called hidden military base referred to as Area 51, aliens and UFOs may be a very true possibility. Many people believe that Area 51 holds many secrets and two poems written about this place definitely put a spark into one’s imagination. “Area 51 At Night” and “Area 51” are both short poems that say much, making reading them enjoyable and very intriguing. Both poems are so very much related, yet their tone and the audience that they speak to with their word choice make them so different.
“Area 51 At Night” whom author is unknown, grabs the reader in right at the start with a very pleasant feeling that focuses on a trip that was taken in their “little green car” that was referred to as their “trusty ship”. “Area 51” by Joe Rosochacki, grabs the reader in a different way and the tone switches to a more serious venue when right from the beginning he says, “Area 51 did not exist almost 51 years ago during this half century it was denied by our government”. When reading “Area 51 At Night” it has a very laid back and kind of fun appeal
