Write your notes in a table based on the Robbins framework, similar to the example below, and include the table as an appendix to your report. Assignment hints and tips Please note that in preparing your report, it is expected that you will cite and use appropriately a minimum of 15 research-based sources (refereed/peer-reviewed journal articles) related to the aspects of leadership that you consider in your report. You are expected to identify specific leadership effectiveness issues evident in the film, in order to develop and justify leadership effectiveness of the leader chosen, through synthesis and careful critical reflection. You will need to properly cite your sources and provide a reference list. Reports which draw solely, or almost exclusively, on the eText will be unlikely to receive a higher mark than a low Pass on this assignment task. The films are based on real-life people and events. The filmmakers have at times taken liberties with historical accuracies, but for the purposes of this report and our consideration of leadership, this is not an important issue. If you wish to find further information about the people and/or circumstances involved in the film you have selected, there are other sources you can consult, including books (non-fiction), journal articles and internet sources. It is not, however, expected that you will do further research into the person or circumstances involved in the film you select as this assignment is not about historythis is a report about leadership. Format Write your report using an appropriate report structure: Executive summary/abstractsummarises the main contents and findings of the report. Introductiongives an overview of the background, scope and focus of the chosen film (not a plot summary, but a discussion of your characters leadership issues), and provides a clear plan of argument and purpose of the report. Main discussion and analysisdraws on the Robbins framework and other relevant literature and theory; uses examples from the film and links to the theory; clear argument and reasoning in line with purpose of the report; analysis and critical reflection of leadership demonstrated in film and leadership effectiveness. Conclusionimplications and brief summary i.e. conclusions from Robbins framework, providing a judgment about the usefulness of the framework to understand how elements of leadership were demonstrated throughout the film. References/bibliographycitation of all evidences/references used, using Swinburne Harvard referencing style. Appendixinclude the table of film scenes with scene time you produced while preparing your report. Focus of report This report is designed to explore issues which affect leadership effectiveness. It is not a biographical report nor a film critique or a history report. In other words, while you may find it useful to do some reading about the people and situations featured in the film to give yourself some additional background, it is not intended that your report offersexcept as relevant to consideration of leadership effectivenessextensive biographical details, go into great detail about the historical events or detail historical inaccuracies, or critique the film.
