Throughout this course you have been using an applied approach to learn math skills relevant to the hospitality industry for many different situations.
Individually you are to produce a 1000 (approx) word report explaining how and why the use of math is required for jobs in the Hospitality industry. You must explain and justify your report by providing examples of how and why math would be used and in what context. You may report on your own experiences but you will also gain more marks if you research the relevancy of math in the hospitality industry as long as you reference your material.
The examples must be your own or those taken from research (not the ones provided on worksheets or on class presentations)
You must provide an explanation and example for each of the following math topics:
Ratio and proportions
Conversions of measurements
Statistical calculations
Yield and price factors
Your report should also contain an introduction and conclusion.
