Discussion 1
Announcing Contract Awards” Please respond to the following:
- From the e-Activity, propose three ways that you could utilize the FedBizOpps Website to search for request for proposals (RFP) to bid on, investigate potential competitors in your business field, or locate awarded contracts during the past year. Determine if there is any value to the information and resources on this Website in regard to announcing contract awards. Support your position.
- Determine the general contract requirements that a government agency must meet for notifying the U.S. Congress of a contract award. Provide two examples of the following government agencies’ requirement to notify Congress in these instances: (1) military weapons contracts from the U.S. Army or Navy; and (2) U.S. Department of Homeland Security contracts. Assess the unique aspect of these contracts that warrant special attention from the U.S. Congress.
Discussion 2
Notifying and Debriefing Unsuccessful Vendors” Please respond to the following:
- Determine the criteria for government contracts that preclude the notification of unsuccessful vendors (for example, in sealed bidding or the acquisition of commercial items). Create a brief scenario in which the criteria are applied.
