Report Assignment 2: Report Overview : The purpose of this Assessment 2 is to help you explore business operations and critically analyse the issues and the challenges in a real world situation. This assignment contributes to achieve: Learning objectives 2, 3, 4 and 5 for the course, and the Graduate qualities 2, 3, 6 and 7. Report: This is an individual assignment. Greasley (2013, pp. 56-62 & pp. 72-78) has described the different manufacturing process types & different layout types and has stated that ‘there is often a choice of layout type for a particular process type’ (p. 72). Greasley (2013, p. 136) further state that ‘in order to assist the process technology decision we consider three characteristics of process technology that vary with volume and variety’. You are expected to analyse the different manufacturing process types and layout types and the characteristics of process technology considered in choosing appropriate technology in business organisations. Your report need to answer the following questions. How are the process types related to the layout types in business organisations. Discuss the characteristics of process technology considered in assisting process technology decisions in business organisations. Comment on the challenges in adopting new technologies in business organisations. The arguments need to be written in a report format and needs to be supported by academic references. For this assessment, research the relevant academic sources, critically review and answer the questions presented with supporting evidences. Format: The argument should be presented in a report format and the report needs to be supported by academic references. The report will consist of the following sections.
