CHAPTER FIVE.
SUMMARY OF FINDINGS, CONCLUSION, AND RECOMMENDATION ( 14 pages)
5.1 SUMMARY OF FINDINGS.
i) This should be the expanded abstract,
ii) Briefly describe the purpose of the study, the procedure used, the major findings and implications.
5.2 CONCLUSION.
i) The conclusion should relate to the basic research question
ii) Relate conclusion also to the hypotheses stated at the start of the study.
iii) Conclusion that can be justifiably drawn from the findings should be made
iv) Explain insights and future directions deduced from the findings.
5.3 RECOMMENDATIONS
i) Make recommendations in terms of the implications for further research
ii) The recommendations should be derived logically from the study.
5.4 LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY
i) Explain the limiting conditions and restrictive weakness of the study which occur when all factors cannot be controlled as part of the study design.
5.5 SUGGESTIONS FOR FURTHER RESEARCH
ii) Derive suggestions for further studies logically from any deficiencies in the research.
iii) Explain with suggestions about different approaches which might have been more appropriate
5.6 CONTRIBUTION TO KNOWLEDGE.
i) Mention the possible contributions of the research study to practical issues.
ii) Explain how the research has contributed to theoretical knowledge.
ABSTRACT. (3 pages)
Prepare the abstract section of the research study to include the following:
a) Indicate the purpose of the research.
b) The methods used for data collection and analysis.
c) The main results obtained
d) Statements of conclusion and implication
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM. (3 pages)

b) Explain that there is indeed a problem in the chosen area that merits the research attention.
c) Locate this problem within within the context of existing research knowledge, previous study or contemporary practice

e) The statement of the problem should isolate, clarify and establish the confines of the focus in such a way that purpose and direction can be easily identified.
