This weeks assignment lays the groundwork for the argument essay you will be writing in Week 5. You will choose a topic, decide on a thesis, and develop the argument you will use to support your thesis. You are free to choose any topic that interests you. Just make sure it is something that you can address fully in an essay of 500-750 words. Part 1 (35 points) Create an outline for the argument essay you will be writing in Week 5. Use the outline format we discussed in this weeks lecture. Ive included a more detailed example below. Make sure that each point in your outline consists of one (and only one) complete sentence. Include at least three supporting points in the body section of your outline (level A, level B, level C, etc.). Include subpoints for at least one of your supporting points. Add additional supporting points and subpoints where it makes sense to do so with your topic. Part 2 (5 points) There should be at least one of these. Example of Outline Format I.
