Just before his death, James Madison built a machine using blueprints that his friend and inventor Ben Franklin had given him as a gift years ago. This machine was a cryogenic chamber that could keep Madison alive in suspended animation for centuries. Madison faked his death and set the machine to awaken him in the year 2016. This way he could see the wonderful achievement of the founding fathers. When he awoke he was very surprised to see that things had not turned out as he hoped. All around him he saw factional disputes that placed private selfish interests ahead of the public good.
