4 Risk Assessment
Possible hazardous features of this project:
• High temperature from the soldering tool
• High temperature caused by short circuit
• Dangerously bright light caused by LED connected to too high voltage • Explosion caused by capacitor connected to too high voltage
• Dangerous caused by motor with high rotation speed
• Toxic chemical leakage from batteries
Ways to reduce the effects of hazards:
• Using gloves and safety glasses during soldering 9
• Double check the circuit before testing. In a better way, simulate the circuit by computer program first
• Do not connect too high voltage to the circuit during the testing
• Control the rotation speed of motor, using groves if necessary
• Check the batteries before using it

Psychology

Work with a coaching ‘client’ to develop a program to enhance performance and to sustain the performance at the new level or even to progressively improve. The specific performance to be enhanced will need to be identified carefully – use the Alignment Model. As discussed throughout the unit, it could be performance such as a specific sport through to maintaining high performance across two or more contexts.
Keep thorough notes throughout this whole exercise. These should include knowledge of your client (e.g. values, motivators, beliefs, goals). Keep a log of activities you both agree on, observations from monitoring performance, feedback processes, and results. These can be included as an appendix to your report. They are not included in the word count and they are not necessary for your assignment.
Include a copy of your Coaching Toolkit as an appendix. This is required for your assignment but it is not included in your word count. Your report should include: • a clear presentation of the performance goal – following the Alignment Model • a discussion of the motivators that your client used to work towards achieving the goal, and how you jointly assessed the effectiveness of these motivators • a discussion of the feedback processes you used, including how you monitored results • a discussion of the approaches and techniques you used with the client (e.g. mental imagery, mindfulness, cognitive techniques, etc); indicate which approaches and techniques were used that are in your Coaching Toolkit • a clear presentation of the results of the coaching and how you measured any improvement in performance • a discussion of what you learned about effectively coaching peak performance and how you can improve in the future (this is your referring to your own learning feedback loops); include a discussion of how useful you found your Coaching Toolkit and what revisions/additions you will make as a result of what you have learned • reference to relevant literature, linking your ideas to theory discussed in the unit
