I am more inclined to work for a non-for-profit organization.  I feel that any business should have some type of charitable purpose. By working for a non-profit organization I am guaranteed that the business operates for the public and that profits are not used for private gain and no direct political activity can be conducted.  A huge benefit with non-profit organizations is that there are no shareholders, so there is no one that is just after the money.  The board that runs these organizations is motivated to ensure that community needs are met and that is what is important.  A drawback of working for a not-for-profit organization is that if there is not enough money being brought in then employees may lose wages or have their hours cut to accommodate. Even though the organization has a charitable purpose there still has to be ways to generate sufficient funds.

I believe I am more inclined to work for a not-for -profit organization. I strongly believe in the way that they operate. I like the idea that they operate for the public and are not selective into who can use their health services. I believe that a lot of not-for-profit organizations put quality of care as their main priority instead of making profits for their investors or owners. If there is money left over I agree with how the money is handled, by having it re-invested within the organization. I believe that all of these ideas are benefits of working for a not-for-profit organization because overall the organization has the best interests of the patients in mind. Since not-for-profit organizations are not investor owned there is no single body of individuals who have control over the organization. A drawback of this is that if not-for-profit organizations cannot raise money or funds to support what is needed for the organization they will suffer, meaning they might have to cut back on their services. This could lead to people missing out on healthcare that is needed, which is never ideal.
