There are hundreds of videos on the web and many shows that are directly related to “reality TV” . After watching this clips and reading the article, you can add your own ideas/thoughts on whether or not the mass media has gone to far with these types of shows. Are they exploiting simply for the sake of money or are they attempting to show issues that have not previously been shown? The reflection hypothesis states that “the mass media reflects the values of the
general population.”

To what extent do you agree with Jamess argument? To what extent do the contentions of Plato and Aristotle have merit?

Must be submitted to the course Blackboard page by 6pm on Friday, Sept. 14In 1956, the Afro-Trinidadian political theorist C. L. R. James published an essay entitled, Every Cook Can Govern: A Study of Democracy in Ancient Greece and Its Meaning for Today. We have read Plato and Aristotle, two ancient Greek philosophers who lived in democratic Athens but who, as James put it, detested the system.
This is a challenging topic. You will need to understand Jamess argument, be well versed in the works of Plato and Aristotle, and think creatively about how best to respond to these questions. You are encouraged to get an early start and to see me during office hours so that we can work together to develop an outstanding paper. Your paper must be typed and printed, double-spaced, and 12-point font. Please title your paper, number your pages, and cite all references. You MUST support your argument with textual evidence. More specifically, your paper must include at least five quotations taken directly from the assigned course readings; you will lose five points from your paper grade for each missing quotation under that five-quotation threshold (e.g., if you cite only three passages, you will lose 10 points; if you cite only two, you will lose 15, etc.). No single style guide predominates in political theory, so you may choose which one youd like (Chicago, MLA, APA, etc.) just be consistent. If you have questions about citations or references, please let me know. You should aim for about five pages, although it is up to you to determine an appropriate length. There is a danger in writing too much, just as there is a danger in writing too little; please see me if you have any questions about page length.
All written work must be submitted electronically to the course Blackboard page. Late work will not be accepted. Extensions will not be granted, except under extreme circumstances, with at least 48 hours advance notice, with appropriate documentation, and in consultation with Student Services and your academic advisor

Identify a process, protocol or program in your current/past work setting that should/could be improved.

Be sure that the process/program is one that could be changed for improvement and that you can work with over the semester. (For example, you cant control federal regulations although you may be able to improve aspects of how you utilize regulations). Then complete a change plan composed of the following: 1. An explanation of the program/process to be changed, the purpose of the evaluation, the type of evaluation and the primary paradigm/theory that guides the evaluation. Give justification and rationale for each factor. 2. A worksheet identifying stakeholders, skills and engagement needs. Give the rationale for the selection of stakeholders in terms of diversity of input, proximity, influence and skill mix. (Sample worksheets are posted). 3. Initiate a logic model for your program evaluation plan. NOTE: I am looking at changing the neonatal pain scale from the NIPS (neonatal infant pain scale) to NPASS (neonatal pain, agitation, and sedation scale) for our unit. This should be the focus of change. This is should be considered an improvement for pain management of the neonate. all references should be scholarly references from journals or textbooks (most should be journals). I will attach the assignment instructions (as above), the worksheet that needs to be completed, a power point from my class with some information about this assignment, the rubric for the assignment and a .pdf from the CDC regarding evaluation plans (also could be a reference). The worksheet template should be filled out as instructed (I counted this as a page). Stakeholders could/should include nurses, doctors, patients, managers, director of the unit, (and anyone else you may think of in a hospital setting), which is the paper part of the assignment and should be about 4 pages.
