Despite the growing awareness of the negative consequences associated with exposure to violence, there has been little focus on how gender and race impact victimization. As a result, this research will explore how gender differences as well as race difference influence exposure to violence and depressive symptoms.

you did so my paper I received a c is there a way to correct the paper and add what the professor is asking for please she is asking forUse more evidence based research to support your statements in the paper. Introduction
Exposure to violence is a potent factor for injury and it has also been found to have implications for mental health. Research exploring gender and race differences and how they influence exposure to violence and depression has been a major area of concern in the healthcare field. Longitudinal data from selected experiments have established that both gender and race are closely linked to adverse exposure to violence and depression. Since social environmental stressors also affect the intensity of depressive symptoms on a depression scale, the proposed management concept which also acts as a protective factor, is the social support from friends and family.
Background Information
The following section will discuss the background of the topic. The putative mechanism that links gender, race and depression rates remains unclear despite this relationship being evident in the healthcare sector. Depression increases the risk of poor social relationships and other negative habits such as substance abuse and even extreme cases such as suicide. The continuous elevation of trauma and depression levels is seen to be high among women than men which also varied according to racial differences. The number of women exposed to violence is also higher in women than in men. This is however experienced in the case of intimate partner violence regardless of racial disparities (Blazer & Kessler, 2014). Since it is unclear why rates of depression differ by gender and race, this study will examine how gender and racial differences affect the rate of depression. In the many studies conducted on exposure to violence and depression, there have been variations in the rates of depression among different racial groups as well as gender. As a result, it has remained unclear which racial group has a higher chance of experiencing depression since results vary among studies (Gonzalez, Tarraf, Whitfield & Vega, 2013).
General Problem Statement
Does racial and gender influence the rate of depression? Some studies have shown that Asians, Mexican Americans, and African Americans have higher levels of depressive symptoms when compared to whites and particularly in women. Despite white men and women having lower rates of depression than Asians, Mexican Americans and African American, they have been reported to receive the highest rate of depression-related diagnosis (American Psychiatric Association, 2012). Since race and ethnicity are more of a social construct, it is unlikely that biological differences influence rates of depression. As a result, the proposed factors that affect racial disparities include low-income backgrounds and lack of proper access to health care. These two factors have been found to play a major role in increasing the risks of experiencing events that may lead to the development of depression. This explains why despite many Asians, Mexican Americans and African Americans having a higher risk of chronic depression, they are less likely to seek medical care for depression (Gonzalez, Tarraf, Whitfield & Vega, 2013). Life circumstances such as traumatic events, intimate partner violence also contribute to depressive symptoms and more so among the low-income women. As a result, when evaluating variations in depression it is important to consider life circumstances.
Specific Problem Statement
The specific problem is how life circumstances such as low-income affect exposure to violence and depression. How does socioeconomic status affect the rate of exposure to violence and the rate of depression? As stated above, Asians, Mexican American, African Americans, and whites are exposed to depression-related causes. However, the rate at which this exposure happens and the consequences are highly influenced by the level of income, especially among the low-income families. This is also closely linked to the racial group that is reported to seek medical care with respect to depression symptoms. As stated above, a national survey reported that there is a higher number of whites seeking medical care than any other group despite whites having a lower rate of current depression (American Psychiatric Association, 2012). On the other hand, an analysis of ethnic subgroups while considering nativity shows that race or ethnicity affects depression according to the degree of socialization in the United States.
Purpose Statement
The purpose of this research is to determine whether there exists a relationship between race, gender the rate of depression. Studies using data from national representative samples have shown varied results concerning how race and gender affect exposure to violence and depression. Even though it is unclear why rates of depression differ by race, there have been studies linking these differences to the level of income and other life circumstances.
Research Questions
The research addressed the following questions.
RQ1: How do gender and race relate to the rate of exposure to violence and depression?
RQ2: How does the level of income relate to the rate of exposure to violence and depression?References

How do Chinas sovereignty and local NGOs soft power interact on the rights of Shanghai queer community?

You’ll have to make up an interview with the leader of a local LGBT NGO called Shanghai Pride and use that as your engagement and write a report on you combining research and evaluation. There are three components to this internal assessment: Complementary research; the engagement and the written report of 2,000 wordsYour report will be assessed against four different criteria:
1. Identification of issue and justification (4 marks)
2. Explanation of engagement (4 marks) 3. Analysis of issue (6 marks)
4. Synthesis and evaluation (6 marks)Writing a successful report means that you must consider how you structure your work to ensure you consider all four criteria.
Whilst there will be a certain amount of description required in order to explain what you did on your engagement you must be careful to ensure that your report is primarily analytical and evaluative rather than descriptive if it is to successfully meet the IB criteria
A suggested structure for your report is considered overleaf. This structure is a suggestion.
Section 1. Identification and justification (approx. 200-300 words)
Section 2. Explanation of engagement (approx. 500 600 words)
Section 3. Analysis and Evaluation (approx. 1,200 words)Section 1 – 1: You must clearly state the political issue is being explored through your engagement.
2. You must explain – clearly but briefly – why this political issue is of interest to you and why you have chosen to carry out the particular engagement you have decided upon
3. You must relate the political issue and your engagement to the course content. How does it link with the syllabus?
Section 2 – 1. You must explain exactly what you did as your engagement activity. It is not enough to say, for example, I helped out at a homeless shelter in San Jos. You should say – briefly – exactly what you did at the homeless shelter. What jobs did you do? Who did you work with? Who did you interact with? How long were you there for?
2. It should be clear to the examiner how this engagement is relevant to the political issue you have chosen to investigate. The easiest way to do this is for you to clearly state how your engagement is relevant to your chosen political issue
3. You must make it extremely clear what you learnt through carrying out your engagement and how this has increased your understanding of the political issue. Remember, it is ok to say that your engagement has made you question everything you thought you believed about an issue beforehand.
Section 3- 1. To what extent does the student synthesise his or her experience and research in the discussion of the political issue?
2. To what extent does the student show evidence of evaluation, underpinned by his or her experiences and adequate research, to allow multiple perspectives on the political issue?

*Explain how the U.S. ranks on these indicators compared to other nations.

Exposing the GapsHow Does the United States Compare in Key Determinants of Health? When the health of a population is measured by various mortality indicators such as life expectancy, infant or child mortality, or the chances of surviving to retirement, surprising trends emerge. Health, as measured by longevity, appears to be declining in substantial segments of the U.S. population, especially for women (United Health Foundation, 2013). These findings receive little attention in most public health efforts or in the mainstream media, at least in the United States.Select health indicators used to measure the health of the U.S. population and contrast them to other countries around the world. You compare various determinants of health within different states in the United States as well as across continents. To prepare for this Assignment, complete the readings and view the media in your Learning Resources. Install the free Gapminder Desktop tool and experiment plotting different health outcomes against various determinants already loaded along the two axes. Using the various health ranking resources provided, select two key health indicators for which the United States ranks lower than other nations.*Provide a brief description of the two health indicators you selected, citing specific sources.

*Explain two factors that might influence those rankings and the relative standing of the U.S. compared to the other nations.
*Determine which two states rank the best and which two states rank the worst for those indicators. Describe factors you believe might contribute to those relative rankings among the states.
*Share any insights you gained or conclusions you drew as a result of making these comparisons.
