What sort of experiences, if any, might you have had regarding your participation in an increasingly "24/7" work environment? If you haven’t experienced this yourself, you undoubtedly know one or people who have; talk to them about their experiences. To what degree does information technology of various sorts play a part in enabling this kind of increased connection between work and home life? Does this seem like a good bargain for both the employee and the employer, in your experience? How much choice is there given about the terms of this bargain? Overall, does it seem like a fair arrangement, or would you consider it to be ethically unbalanced?

Part A – Library search

databases’. Locate the full text of one of the journal articles, and print out (I will do the printing) the first page of the article.

4. Demonstrate your skills in using web searches to find two HIGH QUALITY websites related to your research topic. Use (i) a subject directory search, and (ii) an advanced search in Google to find two high quality websites related to your research topic. Print the first page of one of these sites.

PART B – Reference list

PART C – Abstract

PART D – Book review

In 700 to 750 words, under the heading Review of Good Study write a book review. Imagine that the editors of an academic journal have asked you to write the review for the journal’s undergraduate

When evaluating the reviewed book you should place it in the context of similar books. Use two similar study skills books from the library search to help you do this. One of these should be the E-book Studying and Learning at University: Vital Skills for Success in Your Degree (Pritchard 2008) which you’ll find in the Deakin library catalogue. Give bibliographic details of Good Study, Studying and Learning at University and the third book referred to in the review in a short reference list immediately at the end of the review. Finally, note the number of words used in the main body of the review (i.e. excluding the review’s
reference list). Make sure that the word count is within the 700 to 750 range.

Your task for paper #2 is relatively “simple”: to decide upon a reasonable date for Euripides’ satyr play “The Cyclops” and to support that date from your reading of this play in conjunction with known historical events (hint: the Peloponnesian War/s) and the evidence drawn from the other plays of Euripides & Aristophanes.

The object of this assignment is for you use what you have learned about how to read in our literary examination of Homer’s The Iliad, then to apply it to Euripides’ play “The Cyclops”.  As noted in your textbook (Euripides, Ten Plays, trans. Roche), the date for “The Cyclops” is not known. And while different scholars may have argued various dates for this play, their conclusions are irrelevant for the purposes of this assignment (so don’t bother looking on the web, it won’t help your grade at all). Your task is to decide upon a date based on your reading of the play and your knowledge of other events and plays from this period.

You must complete and use the following underlined thesis statement in your paper:

In this paper I shall demonstrate that Euripides’ satyr play “The Cyclops” must have been written and performed [choose one: in/around/after] the year [fill in the date] BCE. I have chosen this date because [state your rationale here in a very brief form]. To support my position, I shall draw primarily upon known historical events as well as other evidence in Euripides’ plays [list the plays here] and in Aristophanes’ plays [list the plays here].

Your paper will then present a clear, coherent, and carefully argued position in support of your chosen date.
