What does this law code tell us about the complexities of ancient Mesopotamian society. B. “The Diplomacy of Mycenaeans and the Hittites”.

You must answer this question in 1,200-1,800 words, and citations are not necessary: How was Ancient Mesopotamia characteristic of civilization in general? Why is it the first society in which detailed historical study is possible? You should make references from the Uruk Period down to the Old Babylonian Period under Hammurabi (4300-1750 BC). There are lots of topics to write about: politics, religion, society, economy, art, etc. Briefly discuss the significance of the Assyrian Empire or Persian Empire. If you need an additional topic–let me know how Ancient Israel and the rise of Monotheism fits into the study of the Ancient Near East [this would be optional]. In the final part of your essay, please do the following: Read the excerpts from the Analyzing Primary Sources A. “The Code of Hammurabi”. What does this letter reveal about Late Bronze Age (ca. 1200 BCE) diplomacy. Also briefly incorporate the two primary sources into your answer if you can. Remember, as a historian you should think like a prosecuting attorney. You want to argue your case to the jury base on evidence. You want to make a compelling argument to convince the reader that your conclusions are well-thought out and fair. Make sure you state a thesis in the first paragraph of the essay.

View the video, “Billions in Change” by going to You Tube and typing in this title (link is also on the syllabus under week 5.After viewing the video, post comments on the video content…what is this billionaire who invented the vitamin power drink trying to accomplish? Which innovations do you find most useful or intriguing?

Also, reply separately to these two discussions on the bottom. write one paragraph for each response. put the persons name so that I know where to post it.
Elizabeth
Mr. Manoj Bhargava is literally trying to find ways to change the world. He has created an opportunity for himself and his team to build and invent new technologies to help make a big impact on the poorer parts of the world. As we all know, there are simple fundamental needs that we, as human beings require for basic survival. Water, power, and health are the fundamental necessities that Mr. Bhargava focuses on. Id agree that those are all very important but I would rank them in order from water, health then power. There are developing countries in the world that dont have access to these exact human needs. The innovations that I found the most intriguing and all around useful were the free electric bicycle and the Rainmaker. The free electric innovation was interesting because there are basically two benefits for the person who has the bicycle. First off you have to work for the bicycle to generate electricity, meaning getting your cardiovascular exercise for an hour a day in order to generate 24 hours of electricity. We live in a society where power has become a necessity due to our need to stay connected with our mobile devices. Water is the one basic necessity that we all need regardless of our socio-economic status. This was made clear in the video by Mr. Bhargava. The Rainmaker was the most intriguing and the most useful invention to me, the idea that our planet is surrounded by water that is useless yet water is the only thing we all have in common is mind-blowing. The Rainmaker is able to change the way we currently live in this world. The Rainmaker is the one innovation that will be able to provide clean, useful, drinkable water in many parts of the world.Ivonne
The billionaire that invented the 5 hour energy drink, became a billionaire basically overnight. He sounds like a very grateful person, that wants to give back to the less fortunate. He wants to give the people in impoverished countries at least the bare essentials to move towards industrialism, and a descent livelihood. He says that the basic needs to prosper is to have electricity and water, those two things are vital for survival and a descent living conditions. Two of his most useful inventions are the machine that purifies salt water and the bicycle that creates 24 hours of electricity with one hour of cycling.
