Essay Analysis College English You may have read and discussed George Orwells A Hanging and Shooting an Elephant. Using rules for an essay, construct and organize an essay where you analyze both texts fully. You will be choosing the subject matter and will write a literary analysis. Think of each text as individual pieces of work, and analyze how they relate and differ from one another in either argument, tone, and/or subject matter. Questions you may consider: What is the deeper meaning behind Orwells use of symbols in both stories? How does Orwell use historical context, character development, and/or internal conflicts throughout the stories to make his arguments for or against capital punishment and Imperialism? Is each narrator torn between their and the push and pull of society? Why? Give examples to back up your claim. What questions you answer and the organization is up you. You can pick one or more topics listed above to analyze, or come up with your own literary subject for analysis. However, YOU MUST support your thesis and body paragraphs (at least one quote from outside sources per paragraph) with evidence synthesized from each text, and outside sources.
