Task description This assessment has two parts. In Part A, you will describe ONE leadership approach that Registered Nurses can employ . You will discuss and evaluate how this approach can impact upon: communication and documentation, emerging leadership opportunities, team work, delegation, scope of practice and management of conflict. In Part B, you will identify how EITHER; emotional intelligence, resilience or belongingness have influenced your thoughts and actions as you transition to practice and complete your nursing studies. How to complete the task and assignment resources: Part A: Leadership approaches In this part of the assessment, you are going to identify and reflect on ONE leadership approach. You need to structure your answer as follows: Include an introduction to PART A, identifying what you are covering in your assignment (100 words) 1. Description of the leadership approach 1.1. You will describe ONE leadership approach that Registered Nurses can employ 2. Description of the leadership approach in relation to the literature 2.1. Identify the leadership approach you are going to focus upon from the current literature. 2.2. Describe its key characteristics/features with reference to the literature. If there is a model for this type of care, for example a figure which shows its key features, include this and explain it. (Sections 1 and 2, (400) words in total). 3. Part B: Critical evaluation of knowledge and skills and the development of an early career plan (300 word equivalent) This section of the paper may be written in FIRST person, it is YOUR reflections In this section you are going to build upon the knowledge you have gained from Assessment 1 to evaluate your current knowledge and skills and consider how to develop these over the first 12 to 24 months of your professional career. Many of you will have completed an application for a Transition to Professional Practice Program (TPPP) position. Consider the space that you are in, and how you will plan for future positions. From ONE of the following: You will identify how either; emotional intelligence, or resilience or and belongingness have influenced your thoughts about pending transition to practice as you complete your nursing studies. What are the value of the above strategies as you transition from student to graduate nurse? These could include: understanding of a unique population, assertiveness, and critical reflection on practice.
