Directions: You will attend a local online governmental body meetingcity council, school board, state legislature, special district, hospital district, community college district, etc. (Meeting times and locations will be posted on the governmental entities websites and the blackboard!!)
After you attend the local governmental body meeting, you will produce a two to three (2-3 pages) analysis report on your observations. The following questions should guide you on what you should think about at this particular meeting:
What issues or cases did the organization address at the meeting you attended?
Who attended the meeting and who participated in the meeting?
How did the deliberations go (that is, who spoke about what)?
What decisions were made and how they were made?
Did a member of the general public speak? If so, what topic did they address?
Finally, when making your observations, offer your input about what you have learned about the decision-making process in this local governmental meeting. The analysis report will include your views f the major issues faced by the local government organization. You will include their opinions on possible solutions to those issues.
Requirements: The analysis report must be a minimum of two full pages, but no longer than three full pages. 12 point font, Times New Roman and double spaced. A copy of the meeting agenda (if they dont run out of them) can be attached to the report.
Due Date: The Meeting analysis is due November 18th @ 11:59pm on the Blackboard. This is worth 100 points.
