What are the independent variable(s) and dependent variable(s) for this study, and how would you operationalize them?

Research Methology: Your research firm has been tasked with examining possible associations between instructor personalities and student ratings of instructor performance. You will be sampling undergraduate psychology instructors employed at 4-year universities in Florida. Students will evaluate instructor performance using a 10-item questionnaire with possible responses to each question ranging from 1 (very poor) to 7 (exceptional). However, you will need identify an appropriate instrument to assess personality, based on the five-factor model of personality. Be sure to address the following numbered points and incorporate your understanding of the methodological terms and concepts you are asked to address. 1. In one to two paragraphs, provide background literature on existing relevant research. This information should logically lead to the research question. 2. Present the gap in the literature and the impetus for the study. This information should be clearly stated and clearly related to the background literature you provided. 3. What research design is most appropriate for this study? Why? 4. There are approximately 1,000 psychology instructors employed at 4-year universities in Florida; however, due to budgetary restrictions, you will only be able to include 200 individuals in your study. Discuss the sampling procedures you will use to obtain a representative sample of 200 instructors. Include justification of the instrument that you chose to measure personality, including a discussion of the psychometric properties. 6. List your null and alternative hypothesis(es). 7. What covariates (at least 3) are important to include and why? 8. Discuss the limitations of your research design.
